Poems by Thomas Edward Brown (1830 - 1897)

Thomas Edward brown was born in Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man. He was educated at Oxford and was ordained a deacon. He was a fellow of Oriel College, but returned to the Isle of Man in 1852. In 1857 he became a teacher at the recently-formed Clifton College, becoming one of the foundations of its rise to the top ranks of British Schools. He retired in 1892 and returned to his beloved Isle of Man, where he lived until his death.
