Poems by Charles G.D. Roberts (1860 - 1943)

Sir Charles George Douglas Roberts was a Canadian poet known as the Father of Canadian Poetry. He was born in new Brunswick and worked as a teacher and then a writer - of journalism, novels, poetry and short stories. He moved to New York in 1897 and to Europe 10 years later. During World War I he enlisted in the British Army. He joined as a private, but rose to the rank of Captain. He returned to Canada in 1925.
