Arran

Ash Dean

Recumbent peace peels dim the window seat
As dogged tides glitter on regardless
Of poaching spots to bobbing heads or less
Collecting takes which score the leading beat.
Embedded stock, the crag keeps face behind
A closing rampart hushing each surround
To tempt and question that which seems too sound
And wash awake the unobtrusive mind.
The breadth makes coasting fronts act channelled to
Some sorry port and thwarts its cargo flung
Endearing rebels caught by battles sung
Accorded with the insulated view.
A break montane abets the fuel to glow
Inside the blackened hearth where blazes grow.

The Isle of Arran in Scotland is famous for...its sweaters.
