Old Man of Norwich

William Cosmo Monkhouse

There once was an old man of Norwich,
Who could eat twenty bowls of hot porridge;
But he once met a "mon",
Who could eat twenty-one,
So he gave him his daughter in "morriage".

Ha ha ha ha. My grandmother always said that those people in Norfolk were somewhat odd!

There are lots of good poems about Norfolk in the Poetry Atlas.
