after corporations, Indians and women:
Carnation, Colville, Marysville.
A large boulder lies in the middle of the river,
a white strip all the way around,
but too big for wishes.
Clouds, like popcorn, dot the mountains.
Garage sales line the roadside
now that the hay has been baled.
Smoke can be seen in the distance.
A wild fire from lightning or a warning
that winter is hiding behind that hill.
