Mount Greylock from the Window of the Holiday Inn, North Adams, Mass.

J.R. Solonche

It doesn't

look like

a whale from here.

Perhaps

a leopard,

all blotched

with late

fall yellows,

golds, browns,

its head

out of sight,

buried in

the red

guts

of a gazelle.

Mount Greylock in the Berkshires is the highest point in the state of Massachusetts. You can see five states from the summit.

The Holiday Inn in North Adams is, well, a Holiday Inn, with pretty solid ratings on Tripadvisor.
