Poems by James Hillary Mulligan (1844 - 1915)

James Hillary Mulligan was born in Lexington, Kentucky. He was son of a successful businessman. He studied at St. Mary's College in Montreal and received his law degree from Kentucky University. His home, Maxwell Place is now the official residence of the President of the University of Kentucky. As well as working as an attorney and judge, he was also an editor, a state senator and consul-general to Samoa!
