Poems by Abraham Cowley (1618 - 1667)

Abraham Cowley was an English poet born in London, 1618. He was one of the leading English poets of the 17th century. He was educated at Westminster School and at Trinity College, Cambridge. Cowley published his first volume of verse, Poetical Blossoms (1633), when he was 15. His first collection of verse, The Mistress: or, Several Copies of Love Verses was published in 1647. Cowley was buried in Westminster Abbey alongside Chaucer and Spenser.
