Poems by James Elroy Flecker (1884 - 1915)
James Elroy Flecker had a life-long love for the Mediterranean and the Middle East. He studied at Oriental Languages at Oxford and Cambridge before joining the UK's Consular Office in 1910.
He served in the Levant, including posts in Constantinople, Smyrna and Beirut.
James Elroy Flecker suffered from Tuberculosis for a long while, finally succumbing to the disease in Davos, Switzerland.
