Sir Thomas Noon Talfourd was born in Reading and studied law in London. He later became a judge and MP for Reading. He wrote a number of poems about Reading and its surrounding area. Charles Dickens dedicated his novel The Pickwick Papers to Thomas Noon Talfourd.
