Poems by James Montgomery (1771 - 1854)

James Montgomery was born in Scotland but was educated in Yorkshire, eventually making his home in Sheffield. He worked there as a journalist, sometimes getting into trouble with the authorities for radical articles. He grew up a Moravian and all his life worked as a missionary and pastor for the sect.
